Robert J. Navarre, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Robert J. Navarre, Jr. is a native Toledoan. After finishing St. Francis de Sales High School he attended Villanova University receiving an A.B. When he returned to Toledo he attended the University of Toledo and completed the masters program in Biology. He then attended the Medical College of Ohio, at Toledo and received an M.D. Dr. Navarre went to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to become a urologic surgeon. While in Iowa City he was awarded the Cancer Fellowship for the American College of Surgeons, published academic papers and spoke at National Urologic meetings.
Dr. Navarre returned to Toledo in 1983 to practice urology. He is on the teaching faculty at the Medical University of Ohio in both urology and family medicine. He continues to be active in academic medicine both writing and lecturing to physicians, medical students, and nurses. He maintains an interest in all aspects of urologic surgery, especially impotence and stone disease.
Dr. Navarre is board certified and recertified by the American Board of Urology. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is past Chief of Staff and presently Chairman of the Department of Urology at St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center. He is a member of the Douglas Foundation. He is past President of the Northwest Ohio Urologic Society. He has been on the Executive Counsel of the Academy of Medicine, Member of the American Cancer Society and Kidney Foundation. He was on the Board of Mercy Health Partners. He serves on several hospital committees.
Dr. Navarre is active in the community. He is presently on the Diocesan Council on the Elderly. He has served on the Board of Lourdes College, Sylvania Country Club and was past president of Sylvania Country Club. He has been on the foundation of St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center. He has been a member of the Medical Mission to the Dominican Republic. He has spoken to the community on urologic issues and recently was on a video for the Mayor’s coalition on Prostate Cancer in 2006.
Dr. Navarre sees patients in the main office on Executive Parkway and also sees patients at our St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center office.
