Timothy G. Schuster, M.D.
Dr. Timothy Schuster was born and raised in Illinois. Dr. Schuster received his undergraduate degree in biology with honors from University of Michigan. He attended Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine where he graduated with his medical degree Magna Cum Laude as well as received the faculty award for excellence in clinical sciences. He was also the Geoffrey Gunner memorial scholarship awardee, given for academic excellence and exceptional interest and enthusiasm in the art and science of medicine.
Dr. Schuster returned to the University of Michigan for his urology residency. During his training he spent a year dedicated to basic science research during which he assisted in the development of a male reproduction medical device which has both US and International patents pending. He was recognized by his colleagues and faculty at the University of Michigan as an outstanding resident. In addition to his academic productivity, Dr. Schuster received a scholarship to participate in a volunteer medical mission to provide urologic surgery to children in Honduras.
At the completion of residency, Dr. Schuster completed a fellowship in Andrology and Male Reproduction at the University of Michigan. He was hired as an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Michigan Hospitals from 2004-2006. During his tenure, Dr. Schuster was highly recognized for his surgical talent and received the Silver Cystoscope Award, given by the residents, for outstanding teaching and contributions to the field. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Schuster has published over 35 papers and book chapters in leading urology journals and presented at numerous national conferences. He joined Genito-Urinary Surgeons in November 2006 and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Urology at University of Toledo. He also serves as the Northwest Ohio Representative to the Ohio Urological Society.
During his free time, Dr. Schuster enjoys running and mountain biking. He is married with one son.
